Dr. Chen Ling completed postdoctoral research at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) from 2019 to 2023 and obtained his PhD from Tsinghua University in 2019.
PhD Candidate
Developing novel genome editing tools through transposase-mediated genome rearrangements and metabolic engineering for producing bulk chemicals using non-model microorganisms.
PhD Candidate
My current research mainly focuses on the mechanisms of transposons, particularly the IS110 family and ISPpu10. I am fascinated by how these genetic elements mediate genomic rearrangements and am currently working on repurposing them as programmable genome editing tools.
